for babies & toddlers up to 3 years old

music mind games: saturdayS 9.45am

for 3 to 5 year olds

Suzuki Music Time is our music and singing class for 0-3 year olds and their parents. It’s a wonderful way to prepare yourself and your child for the Suzuki journey of learning an instrument later on. SMT happens at the Hub at 9.45am and 11am each Thursday morning. The classes last for around one hour and are £16 each and there are discounts available for low-income families.

If your child is 3 years old you can choose between SMT and Music Mind Games. The Music Mind Games classes are 35 minutes long and require more focused concentration than SMT but are still loads of fun, with lots of singing and general musicianship, as well as some stave work and exposure to rhythm and pulse. These classes cost £16 each and there are discounts available for low-income families. The children in these groups are aged 3 to 5 years old.

Email us if you need further information or if you have any questions. You can find our more about fees here.

This class is sold as a course and if you are on a low income and would like a discount please let us know as there are bursaries available. You pay monthly and need to give us six week’s notice if you decide to stop. The monthly amount is £44 payable throughout the year (including August) which amounts to £16 per session.

Our Thursday Suzuki Music Time classes are run by trained Suzuki Early Childhood Education teacher Hannah, who is also a Suzuki violin teacher. Our Saturday Music Mind Games classes are led by Aimee, who is also one of our Suzuki Hub violin teachers. Hannah and Aimee lead the group of children and parents through a fast-paced musical curriculum, reciting nursery rhymes, singing, playing high quality musical instruments, dancing, marching in time, twirling, counting, leading, taking turns, listening and reading. The classes are similar - the Thursday classes follow the official Suzuki Early Childhood Education syllabus while our Saturday classes are Aimee’s own unique blend of various approaches to toddler music and singing along with music mind games.

The Suzuki Music Time programme develops musical, cognitive, social and motor skills including an understanding of dynamics, pitch, rhythm and pulse, greater numeracy and vocabulary, group sensitivity, confidence in communicating, and a love of learning. It’s also a great way for parent and child to prepare for when they start learning an instrument together once the child turns four years old.
